At the narrowest point in the Pawcatuck River separating RI and CT, Thomas Stanton located his trading post. Today the rock formation remains that he used for his wharf. He was given a three year monopoly on trading rights. He conducted a vigorous trade activity with a son Daniel located in Barbados.
